Our firm has roots stretching all the way back to 1873 when it was founded by Jason Erwin. Today, partners Daniel D. Ryan, Joseph A. Kromholz, and John M. Manion have assembled a deeply educated and widely skilled team adept and dedicated to “making a case for protection”. This dedication has earned Ryan Kromholz & Manion, S.C. the highest rating possible by the respected Martindale-Hubbell International Law Directory.

Our successful track record of obtaining patents, trademarks, and copyrights covers a variety of technologies and product areas on behalf of large and small companies, as well as individuals, in the United States and throughout the world. We counsel and assist our clients in the sale and licensing of their intellectual property rights. We also provide counsel and assistance in patent infringement and validity matters as well as trademark infringement matters. This includes representation of clients in United States Federal, District, and Appellate Courts.

Protection is one thing; prevention is another. Not only is RKM successful in protecting our clients’ interests in litigation, but perhaps more importantly, we are expert at positioning our clients to avoid litigation in the first place.

Book smart and job savvy—that’s how we like to describe our attorneys. That’s because they possess prior industry experience and boast diverse technological experience including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial controls, consumer products, food science, paper converting, machine design, medical systems and devices, software, environmental engineering, geology and geophysics, and chemistry. This knowledge and experience truly make us a work force.

We believe hiring quality people who have been on the job out in the real world brings tremendous advantages we can pass on to our clients. Not only does it broaden each individual’s knowledge of business and help them to see the bigger picture, it enables them to offer added value and make suggestions based on experience, not just study.

At RKM, we don’t have to simply go by the book, we can go beyond your expectations.

That’s why we build more than just relationships with our clients, we build partnerships.
