Melissa S. Hockersmith, Associate


Melissa was born on August 21, 1979 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Melissa graduated from Arizona State University in 2002, earning a B.S.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at Arizona State University, Melissa was actively involved in the Society of Women Engineers, chairing the Community Service Committee. Melissa was the Chairperson of a committee which planned Diversity Evening with Industry, a networking dinner and career fair for minority engineering students. Melissa was also involved with the Women and Science and Engineering program’s summer camps which encourage junior high and high school girls to become involves in engineering and science.

In 2004, Melissa received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Melissa has been with Ryan Kromholz and Manion, S.C. since 2004, and was a law clerk at the firm for two years while attending law school. Melissa is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. Melissa is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Waukesha County Bar Association, Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association, Association of Women Lawyers, and the Society of Women Engineers.
