Garet K. Galster, Associate Attorney


Prior to attending Marquette University Law School, Garet worked as a communications design engineer for Motorola, Inc., in Austin, TX.  In that capacity, he designed silicon hardware to be used in conjunction with image and signal processing technologies.

While at Marquette University Law School, Garet worked as an intern clerk for the honorable Justice N. Patrick Crooks of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.  As a member of the national champion trademark moot court team in 2005, Garet received valuable appellate litigation experience.  Also at Marquette, Garet served as a professorial research assistant.

Working as a clerk for Ryan Kromholz & Manion, S.C., for two years prior to joining the firm, Garet assisted in patent prosecution, copyright prosecution, trademark prosecution and trademark availability searching, trade secret protection, contract drafting and review, and patent infringement and non-infringement opinions.

In addition to his listed practice areas, Garet is interested in the social and economic aspects of intellectual property law.  He has researched and written papers in the areas of patent and trademark valuation and brand recognition.  Garet is further interested in survey methodologies and strategic business planning, which focuses primarily on efficiency analyses of patent procurement and other forms of intellectual property protection.

  Admitted to Wisconsin Bar, 2006, also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin; registered to practice before U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
